I appreciate the pointers to get this done, which I'll ask a colleague to investigate. If anybody from ACPICA wants to make the port then it will likely be eagerly received as a new method to do a DSDT override for Win8. Win8 appears to have locked down a lot of stuff.

Thanks,
Nando

Sorry, I misunderstood your question. For FreeDOS, I think you will need to write a new OSL (OS Services Layer) that is specific for FreeDOS. The existing Windows OSL in the ACPICA source could be used as a starting point.

You could modify/use the Unix makefiles to build the software. However, we also provide project files for MS visual C if those would be useful.

AcpiExec should not need any “porting”. Just download the unix version of the software from acpica.org and build it.

Hi acpcia developers,

Has anybody managed to port the ACPI tools like acpiexec to FreeDOS? I require those utilities as a better mechanisms to substitute a in-memory DSDT table with my own custom version. The tools being a better way of doing it than my kludge at outlined at http://forum.techinferno.com/diy-e-gpu-projects/2109-diy-egpu-experiences-%5Bversion-2-0%5D-27.html#post31421

Thanks,
Nando
